Directorate of Women Development and Child Welfare Department and POSHAN Abhiyaan team conducted a state level program with Hon’ble Minister as part of Poshan Maah is conducted on 13th September 2019. Smt. Satyavathi Rathod, Hon’ble Minister for WCD, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The program started with welcome speech by Shri. M. Jagadeeshwar, IAS Principal Secretary, followed by the detailed presentation on departmental activities with a special focus on POSHAN Abhiyaan and Poshan maah celebrations by Smt. Viziendira Boyi, IAS, Director, WDCW. Hon’ble Minister delivered her key note address after the presentation, stressing on the improving health and nutrition outcomes among children and their mothers and among adolescent girls. She has re-iterated to take forward POSHAN Abhiyaan with utmost interest by owning it for better outcomes. She has instructed department officials to take the nutrition message to every household, special attention is to be given to marginalized communities to improve their health and nutritional status. She has also instructed to workout nutritional status among tribal and scheduled caste communities for better planning and to target with better services.
